National Construction Manager
Thomas leads and manages the national construction team for Havel’s extended services division. In this role, he collaborates with senior leadership to align construction operations with Shambaugh’s corporate vision.
He manages quality control, customer relationships, and project bid selection, while providing training support and performance management throughout his group. He oversees the overall scheduling effort to maximize personnel utilization and resource allocation, helping ensure customer commitments are fulfilled.
Thomas consistently delivers strong leadership, management, and organizational skills, all with the aim of completing projects on time and within budget.
Beginning his career in the construction industry in 1986, Thomas completed his electrical apprenticeship in 1993. He then progressed through various roles of increasing responsibility within mechanical, electrical, and plumbing disciplines including Project Manager, Project Foreman, and Project Superintendent.
Thomas joined the Havel team in 2016 to serve as Project Superintendent for our University of Notre Dame (UND) campus projects. His high degree of success with UND advanced him into our South Bend office in 2020, where he continued his exemplary service across our growing client base, before taking on his current role in 2025.
In addition to excelling with UND projects including McCourtney Hall and Morris Inn, Thomas has been involved in expansion projects for Memorial Hospital Surgery and Elkhart General Hospital. An accomplished jobsite safety professional, Thomas has also earned OSHA-30 certification.
Thomas and his wife love spending time with their four children and numerous grandchildren. In his spare time, he enjoys tending to his flower garden comprised of more than 50 rose varieties.
