Parkview Regional Medical Center - BAS, Fort Wayne, IN
Havel provided a modern, highly advanced Building Automation System (BAS) during the construction of Parkview Health System’s Regional Medical Center.
Utilizing their in-depth knowledge of healthcare facilities, Havel spearheaded the installation of a fully integrated BAS for the project, which was only one component of the single-source combination of mechanical, electrical, and fire protection services provided by Shambaugh & Son (Shambaugh). Havel is a division of Shambaugh.
Parkview determined that they needed to expand their overall regional footprint to better serve northeast Indiana and northwest Ohio. The construction of a new, 980,000-square-foot Regional Medical Center offered them the space and technology they needed to provide the outstanding health services their patients deserved.
The BAS features the latest in building controls software and centralizes an array of systems, including many of the complex technologies built into the healthcare facility. For the BAS, Havel integrated the following systems:
- HVAC system
- Power distribution and backup systems
- Medical gas system
- Temperature trending
- Alarming of critical hospital equipment, irrigation system, and backup domestic water distribution
- Four-pipe variable air volume (VAV) system
Parkview Health System is a network of over 80 community hospitals, clinics, and health facilities serving northern Indiana and northwest Ohio. For over 50 years, Parkview has partnered with Shambaugh and divisions like Havel on a variety of new construction, retrofit, and renovation projects.
